An essential element to the elevation of the international profile of our sport is ensuring continued support for our athletes, coaches, and officials in preparing for the world stage. We are excited to announce the next chapter in that journey.
U23 athletes Victor Magalhaes, Nathaniel Forbes, along with Elite Men’s athlete Michael Testori, have been selected to represent Cayman Cycling as part of the Cayman Islands delegation to the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
At the elite level, Michael Testori can be found in the Middle East, testing himself with other elite cyclists in the region. Progressing through regional cycling teams, Michael has seen increased success and recently powered to victory in the Elite Men’s division at the 2022 Oakley Criterium in Dubai.
Competing at the U23 level, Nathaniel Forbes, has been sharpening his skills on the local racing scene. At just 20 years old, he is already a seasoned competitor, having represented his country in several international games including the Pan American Cycling Championships and the Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe.
After dominating the local racing scene in Cayman in 2021, U23 Cayman Islands National team cyclist Victor Magalhaes is currently training and racing while finishing up his last year of University in Leeds, England. Victor also took on both the Individual Time Trial and the Road Race at the Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe and is currently gaining valuable experience in the hilly terrain of the UK while continuing his Commonwealth preparations.
We look forward to seeing the team on the roads of Birmingham in early August!
